Who we are

Jurisbooks makes GST billing and accounting software for Indian businesses (Jurisbooks Offline and Jurisbooks Online). You can reach us at jurisbooks1977@gmail.com or +91 92204 99490.

What we collect, and how

• The enquiry form. If you send an enquiry we receive what you type: your name, phone or WhatsApp number, email (if you give one), business name (if you give one), what you would like help with, your message, and the web page you sent it from. The form passes your enquiry to us through the Web3Forms service, which delivers it to our email inbox, and also saves it in our own customer records, kept on Google Firebase (Google’s data centre in Mumbai), so we can follow it up. Only we can see these records.
• WhatsApp. If you tap a WhatsApp button, your own WhatsApp opens with a message ready to send. Anything you send there is handled by WhatsApp under its own terms and privacy policy.
• Email and phone. If you email or call us we keep what you tell us so that we can reply and follow up.
• Downloads. Before downloading we ask you to sign in with Google. Google confirms your identity to us, and we keep your name, email address, which program you downloaded, the date, and your browser type in our Jurisbooks cloud, so that we can help you get started and follow up. The download page remembers on your own device that you signed in, for 30 days, so you are not asked every time. The installer itself is delivered from GitHub, and this website is hosted on GitHub Pages; like most hosts, they may record technical details such as your IP address when you visit or download.
• Fonts. This website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google may receive your IP address when a page loads.

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies or trackers on this website. Your browser keeps a few small items for the site to work: a note that you clicked “I agree”, a note that you signed in to download (for 30 days), and a short timer that stops the enquiry form being sent twice by accident. They stay on your device and are not sent to us.

Why we use it

Only to answer your enquiry, to arrange a demo or licence, to follow up with you about it, and to keep a record of our dealings with you. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.

Who else sees it

The services that carry and keep your enquiry for us (Web3Forms, our email provider and Google Firebase), the hosting services named above, and, if you use WhatsApp, WhatsApp. We share information with anyone else only if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any resulting business with you, and then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner.

Your choices

You may ask us to show you the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you may withdraw your consent to be contacted at any time. Email or call us using the details above and we will respond.

The software itself

Jurisbooks Offline keeps your business data on your own computer and does not send it to us. Jurisbooks Online keeps your company's books in the cloud, in Google's data centre in Mumbai, and they can be opened only by the people you add to the company. The Terms of Use explain your responsibilities for your data and ours.

Google Drive (optional)

Both Jurisbooks Offline and Jurisbooks Online can keep a copy of your books in your own Google Drive, but only if you switch this on by clicking “Connect Google Drive” in the program’s Settings. If you never connect it, nothing described in this section happens.

• What Jurisbooks can access. Only the files Jurisbooks itself creates in your Drive (a “Jurisbooks” folder holding one file per company). It cannot see, open or change any other file in your Google Drive. It also reads the email address of the Google account you connect, so that the program can show you which account is connected.
• What it does with that access. It saves your books to those files after you make changes, and reads them back so that your books can appear on another computer where you connect the same Google account. Nothing else.
• Where the data goes. The Drive copy travels directly between the program on your computer and your own Google account. It does not pass through our servers, and we never receive your Google sign-in or the files in your Drive. The sign-in permission is stored on your computer in encrypted form. (With Jurisbooks Offline, this means your books still never reach us. With Jurisbooks Online, your books are also kept in the Jurisbooks Online cloud, as explained under “The software itself” above; connecting Google Drive adds a copy in your own Drive and changes nothing about that.)
• No sharing, no advertising. We do not sell, share or transfer this data to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising or to train any AI model. Google holds the files under your own Google account terms.
• Turning it off. Click “Disconnect” in the program’s Settings, or remove Jurisbooks from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. The files already in your Drive stay there until you delete them yourself.

Jurisbooks’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Sign in with Google (Jurisbooks Online)

If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google tells us only your Google account’s email address (which Google has confirmed belongs to you). We use it as your Jurisbooks Online account name, the same way a mobile number is used for SMS sign-in, and keep it with your account in the Jurisbooks Online cloud. We never see your Google password, and we do not get access to your Gmail, Drive or any other Google data through sign-in. This follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Security

We take reasonable care to protect the information we receive. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not put anything in the enquiry form that you do not need to.

Children

This website is for businesses and is not aimed at children.

Changes

If we change this notice we will update the date at the top of this page.
