About & Vision

Software you own, not software you rent.

Jurisbooks was built on a simple belief: a business's numbers belong to that business — not to whichever company happens to host the server. Everything else follows from that.

The Problem

Billing software usually means handing your numbers to someone else.

Most commercial billing and accounting tools are built cloud-first: your sales figures, customer lists, and margins live on a server you'll never see, governed by a company you have to trust indefinitely. That trade-off is treated as unavoidable — a cost of doing business in software. We didn't think it had to be.

The Approach

Built offline-first, not offline as an afterthought.

Jurisbooks runs as a real application on your own computer. It isn't a website with an offline mode bolted on — there's no server it's designed to talk to in the first place. Outbound network requests are blocked at the application level, so this isn't a policy promise, it's how the software is actually built.

01

Correctness over convenience shortcuts

Every document feeds a real double-entry ledger. Trial Balance, Profit & Loss, and Balance Sheet are checked to balance on every entry — not estimated, not assumed.

02

Privacy as architecture, not a setting

There's no toggle for "don't send my data anywhere," because there's nowhere for it to go. That's a structural decision, not a configurable preference.

03

Built for how Indian businesses are actually taxed

GST — CGST, SGST, IGST, HSN codes, rate-wise and party-wise reporting — isn't an add-on module. It's part of the core billing flow from the first invoice.

04

Grows with the business, doesn't lock it in

Start with core billing. Add full accounting and GST reporting, and more companies, when the business is ready for them — never a forced migration to "keep up."

Where We're Headed

Our vision

A business owner should be able to run their entire billing and accounting operation without ever wondering where their data actually lives, who can see it, or what happens if a subscription lapses. Jurisbooks is our answer to that — accounting software built the way we'd want to use it ourselves: correct, private, and fully under the business's own control.
